Geriatrician at Trillium Health Centre, Toronto

As a member of our Outpatient Clinic/Outreach team, you will assess and manage outpatients, and provide consultations for patients in long-term care. Psychiatric inpatient and medical-surgical consultation-liasion duties are not required. Additionally, teaching opportunities with the developing University of Toronto Mississauga campus Medical School are pending. You must have licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, an FRCP(C) in Psychiatry, and a minimum of one year clinical fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry. Participation in the on-call schedule is expected at a frequency of approximately one in ten. Financial incentives include overhead-free practice and stipend support for non-billable time.

Waitemata District Health Board (WDHB) Home and Older Adults Service (HOAS) provides care to the population of North and West Auckland - the largest growing community of older adults in New Zealand.
Our team of nine Geriatricians along with our Registrars and House Surgeons provide in-patient and community care for the older age population and manage the following services:
Memory Service
Stroke Service
Ortho-Geriatrics
Stroke rehabilitation
We are proud to have New Zealand's leading geriatric academic unit offering excellent research opportunities. The Specialist Geriatrician role also offers the option to work in a joint appointment with General Medicine for suitable Specialists.
Waitemata Health is the seat of the Masonic Chair in Geriatric Medicine, and both the District Health Board and the University of Auckland are eager to expand the academic unit. We also have a close association with the old age psychiatry service and are the site of the first Memory Clinic to be established in New Zealand.
Along with RMO supervision and medical student teaching you will develop your own professional development plan and contribute to service goals and strategies by delivering consistent, high quality care. You will hold FRACP and be registered or eligible for Specialist registration with the NZ Medical Council.
